About The Ocean Pollution Crisis
You know by now that plastic pollution is bad for our oceans. But do you know how bad? Rubicon Global recently reported that approximately one truckload of plastic enters the ocean every single minute and because of that, there are 25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean and about 500 dead zones, covering a size similar to the entire United Kingdom.
Plastic’s effects are devastating and include depletion of oxygen content in the water, failure in the reproductive system of marine animals, the contamination of the food chain, and disruption to the cycle of coral reefs, among countless other issues. Single-use plastic is killing our oceans.
The ocean crisis can seem vast and insurmountable, but at StepChange, we believe that every solution begins by taking that first step. That’s why we reuse plastic bottles to make super comfy shirts and socks and donate a portion of sales to our incredible partner organizations that are creating impactful change. Join us in becoming Agents of Change in improving the health of our oceans. Together, we can #makewaves.
